PAN Registration

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric identity allotted by the Income Tax Department who has delegated this power to NSDL and UTI, who on the behalf of IT department and under the supervision of CBDT issues the PAN card. It can be applied by both Indian and Foreign nationals and is mandatory for all those persons including entities who are earning Taxable Income in India and is liable to pay Taxes.

The primary objective of issuing a PAN is to use a unique identification key for tracking the financial transactions that might have a taxable component in order to prevent tax evasion. The PAN number remains the same irrespective of the address throughout India. One can verify his/her Pan no by login government portal “Know your Pan” from where the validity of Pan no can be authenticated
